About Me

Hi there! I’m Elizabeth, but most people call me Liz. Welcome to my little slice of the internet. I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Los Angeles. I am currently a Masters student at the University of Southern California pursing a degree in Public Relations and Advertising. I work at Beyond Meat as the head of consumer care.

Personal Life

I am the proud daughter of immigrants. My Father is from El Salvador, where his family made the tough decision of leaving their country because of the ongoing civil war. My mother from Juarez, MX, once considered the most dangerous place in the world for many years, had to leave due to the violence and lack of economy. I am thankful my family made those sacrifices and led me to where I am now, in a position where I can tell their stories and create one of my own. I have always had a big family and I am so happy I grew up in an environment that allowed me to be as open and outspoken as I am.

Pictured left to right: My mother’s family in Mexico early 70s, Me and my maternal grandparents (grandmas b-day), Paternal grandma (the back blue shirt) in El Salvador with her family.

I am the oldest of 5 siblings. I have three sisters and one brother (the taller one.) We grew up close in age as my parents had us in a span of 10 years. You can image how hectic our household was, I like to say this made me a better leader, but my siblings would say I’m bossy. I am also the proud aunt of two amazing kids, my niece and nephew are my heart humanized and I love them so much. With that being said my biggest challenge in life has been teaching my niece her ABCs, it is a new level of patience I think only Monks have achieved.

Interest

I was born into a family with big personalities and passion. I cannot recall a time in my life where I missed a Super Bowl or World Cup Final. I started playing sports at the age of 6 for my local t-ball team, the Dodgers. My love for baseball was born, I played until I was forced to play softball and played until I was 18. I played additional sports in between, Flag Football, Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, even Tennis. Baseball is still my favorite sport and I consider Dodger Stadium a second home of sorts. As I got older I ventured into a sport I never spent a thought on, Formula 1. It opened my eyes to sport on an elite and international level, while the World Cup is international, Formula 1 is elite motor sport. Growing up in a sports driven environment I knew I wanted to be surrounded by it the rest of my life. I spend my weekends and nights at sporting events, from freezing at a Kings game or shouting chants at an LAFC game, I love that every season has a different sport. This drove me to want to work and be involved in the sports sphere, I hope I can work the FIFA World Cup once it makes its way to Los Angeles, a goal I know I can achieve.

In addition to sports, I am passionate about the arts. I love going to museums, concerts, plays, theaters and I have an affinity for classical music, specifically the LA Phil performing Tchaikovsky every summer. I appreciate and love the passion you can feel through these mediums. Growing up in a city like Los Angeles I was blessed to be surrounded by the opportunity to experience all of these different forms of expression.
