Meet us at the intersection of

culture and sport.

How Foot Locker is redefining the fan shopping experience.

This summer, all eyes are on North America, crowds are bigger, louder, and the stakes are higher. The World Cup is coming, and it’s taking over, not just sports, but how culture exists in America. With a global event like the World Cup, Foot Locker wants to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. Rolling out this summer is a new way to shop and experience the game. The Foot Locker Drop Zone is an ice cream truck that delivers fans limited-edition products. The Drop Zone exists at the intersection of culture and sport, tailored for each host city. It brings fans closer to the experience. Curated for the World Cup, we will travel thousands of miles directly to fans, appear at designated FIFA fan zones and surprise locations, and drop on the Foot Locker app.

A New Kind of Drop Culture

Drop culture isn’t new; the early days of waiting in line on Fairfax and Melrose for the new Jordan drop have remained consistent throughout the years. Anytime Supreme, Complex, Nike, or Adidas does a drop, you can guarantee there will be lines. In more recent years, you can see this with sports teams. After their World Series win, the Dodgers dropped limited-edition jerseys at the stadium store, and people were in line to get their hands on them. We are changing culture by bringing the drop directly to consumers. Each stop the truck makes brings something new; it’s an event in itself. It creates exclusivity, excitement, and, in some cases, FOMO.

Designed for the Moment

Today, fans and consumers are shifting from traditional brick-and-mortar stores, especially Gen Z, who value experiences they can share with their friends. The World Cup draws over 1.5 billion viewers, making it one of the most culturally significant global events. We want to take advantage of this moment and create a memorable experience. When you combine cultural relevance, exclusivity, and physical experience, you create something that consumers don’t just buy, they experience.

Road Trippin’

Fans can track the truck and its location on social media and via alerts in the Foot Locker app. It gives fans the opportunity to get excited through a scavenger hunt. Clues will be dropped days before the reveal of the location so that fans can create their own buzz. We want fans to enjoy more than just the World Cup; we want them to feel a sense of community and excitement.

The Future Is Mobile, Experiential, and Immediate

By launching on a global scale during the World Cup, one of the biggest events, we give fans the opportunity to be there for the start. This is only the beginning, you may see the Foot Locker Drop Zone at festivals like Lollapalooza, Coachella, The Super Bowl, All-Star weeks for the NBA, WNBA, and MLB. We want fans to be excited and enjoy the moment. So the next time you hear music echoing down the street, don’t assume it’s ice cream.

It might just be your only chance to catch the drop.

Don’t Miss out, Foot Locker Drop Zone.
